Next week I am heading out to India. Here’s why?

    Dear Crown Church,

Next week I am going to visit Project Hope and Living Hope Church in Mumbai, India. Many of you may remember Vinu Paul who leads Living Hope Church- he last visited us in April 2015. Vinu has been a great friend of Crown for the last decade and I am looking forward to spending time with him and continuing our friendship.

The week in India will give me a chance to see the work of Project Hope that we support as a church. My itinerary includes time with the doctors treating patients in some of Mumbai’s slum areas; visiting the team that supports children and families impacted by trafficking; also time with the team caring for children living on the streets. I am not sure how prepared I am for seeing these projects first hand; I am sure it will be both heart-breaking and challenging.

I am also looking forward to making new friends and sharing time with members of Living Hope Church and looking forward to spending time sharing at their leader’s gathering, their supernatural school of ministry and their Sunday services- with some translated into Hindi. I am also meeting Satyabadi, the leader of the church in Odisha, who we have been supporting financially to help build a school in their community.

I’m also secretly hoping that I’ll get to bump into Sachin Tendulkar, Mumbai’s cricketing legend! Or to at least get scouted for the Mumbai Indians cricket team! 

Please do pray for me whilst I am away and please also pray for Lucy and the kids who are staying back in the UK. I do look forward to sharing with you about the trip when I return.

    Yours,
    James
