  • New Ground Church Leaders to Brazil

    Written by James Hunting,
Last year I had the amazing privilege of going out with a team of New Ground church leaders to Brazil. The purpose of the trip was to build relationship with a number of church leaders who were essentially saying – “we love what New Ground is about, can we be a part of it?” I came back from the trip having met some truly amazing people who love Jesus and His church, it was a real honour to be around them and to share our stories together.

On Monday 2nd March, for 9 days, I am back out with a team from New Ground to continue the growing friendship. If you’ve been around Crown any length of time you may well know the team- Jim Partridge who spoke at Crown in January, Dani Lucena who spoke at our last International Celebration in May 2019 and Steve and Caz Alliston who came and hosted our Marriage Training Day last year.

Sometimes I think we can take for granted being part of a vibrant family of churches who are together on a mission. I’m very grateful for the way Jim has looked out for me and the church over the past few years, someone who is just as interested in how my marriage and family are as well as the health of Crown. The fact I can also talk about Dani coming in to encourage us to keep growing as a multi-cultural church and Steve and Caz coming to invest into strengthening marriages only goes to highlight some of how we as Crown benefit from being closely connected with others. I can add on to that Ashburnham, Newday, The Academy, Prayer Days, Elders and Wives days, Church planting training… the list goes on.

There was a point a few years ago when we were looking on at New Ground and we were saying “we like the look of that, can we be a part of it?” I am so grateful leaders of New Ground churches came to spend time with us, getting to know us and catching us up in a world-wide adventure. It’s a real honour to now be part of a team offering the same hand of friendship to others.

When I came back last year I was told off by a few from Crown who had said they would have prayed for me had they have known I was going. If you are able to pray for our trip I would be really grateful- please do also pray for Lucy and the kids who will be doing life as normal back in the UK. Please also pray for the churches we are spending time with (they are all scattered on the outskirts of Sao Paulo) and for the relationships to continue to grow.
