Voices Together
Download FileOn the12th July I'd love to have the sound of many voices coming through our speakers as we sing together. Find out here how you can be involved.
I know it’s not as easy to sing when you’re in your home alone or with a few others around you, so on the 12th July - as a reminder of how important and special it is to sing with others - we’re going to get creative. I’d love to have hundreds of Crown Church voices coming through the speakers as a backing track when we sing the song ‘Way Maker’ in our livestream service on 12th July. Below are some instructions on how you can do that. Please join in, even if singing isn’t your favourite thing. In fact, especially if singing feels costly to you or like hard work, as David said in 2 Samuel 24:24 when offered some oxen that he could sacrifice for free, ““No, but I will buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God that cost me nothing.”
You can just sing one chorus if you like, and it doesn’t have to be a perfect recording - the variety and mistakes are all part of the unique sound!
Here’s What To Do
1) Plug some headphones in and open this video:
2) Find a way to record your voice on a separate device (you could use a ‘Voice Memo’ app on a smartphone, or even record a video)
3) Sing along (lyrics below and attached as pdf)
4) Send the recording to dan.smith@crown-church.org.uk by Friday morning (if it’s large video file then you could use wetransfer.com, NB, if it’s video, I’ll just pull the audio from it, so you don’t need to worry if you only film the ceiling!)
5) I’ll pull all the audio together and make a backing track that we can all sing live to on Sunday
Please take the time to join in this week. One of the special things about being part of a church family is singing together. Singing and worship are a match made in heaven. In Mark 12:30, Jesus quotes from Deuteronomy chapter 6 commanding us to, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”. Sung worship is maybe the only way we can love God with heart (emotions), soul (our spirit), mind (intellect) and strength (physical effort) at the same time.
Here are the lyrics:
You are here moving in our midst
I worship You, I worship You
You are here rearranging destinies
I worship You, I worship YouYou are here turning lives around
I worship You, I worship YouYou are here, You are working miracles
I worship You, I worship YouWay Maker, Miracle Worker
Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness
That is who You are
x 2You are here, touching every heart
I worship You, I worship YouYou are here, healing every life
I worship You, I worship YouYou are here, turning lives around
I worship You, I worship YouYou are here, mending every heart
I worship You, I worship YouWay Maker, Miracle Worker
Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness
That is who You are
x 2You wipe away all tears
You mend the broken heart
You’re the answer to it all, JesusYou wipe away all tears
You mend the broken life
You’re the answer to it all, JesusWay Maker, Miracle Worker
Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness
That is who You are
